exactly, also i like how tedious it is sometimes to follow up on a feed, where you have to click on the re: threads to follow a post.
i think it adds a bit of user effort to make this platform more engaging. a positive side-effect of what would be considered "poor ui/ux" in today's web standard.
i think we have lost the humanness and natural side of the internet by trying to make everything so streamlined and "standardised". we need platforms like these where there are some annoying bits and pieces, that actually make the experience more special and unique.
we also need people that would not budge and stronghold these kinds of features. having a platform that feels imperfect, therefore more unique and special are being lost these days, and i think it is a negative slippery slope we are headed towards because it alienates analogue from digital; they should co-exist.
this platform is like the pure part of the internet, where it hasn't been "disinfected" yet and made "cleaner".
