Past few days I've been moderating and mediating an argument that happened on discord where transphobic comments were made and it's caused a lot of fuss, and one kid got caught in the crossfire at some point, and while explaining the situation to him he just started asking me a bunch of questions about trans people, and went more and more in depth with his questions (he revealed he was a kid very late in the convo which made everything make sense)
